What Journey is

Journey (journey.lavit.io and the Journey mobile apps) is a nutrition and training companion: you log meals, weight, water, steps and workouts; if your gym uses Journey, you also see your gym's workouts, classes and coach messages. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

Data we collect

• Account: when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile photo. Journey does not request Gmail access and never reads your email or any other Google data.
• Profile: details you enter — age, height, weight, sex, activity level, goals and dietary notes — used only to calculate your personal targets.
• Logs: the meals you describe, nutrition estimates, weight entries, water, steps, workouts and personal records.
• Meal photos: photos you take are sent for AI analysis to estimate nutrition and are not stored — they are processed and discarded.
• Service usage: technical metering of AI requests (token counts) used to operate the service.

AI processing

Meal descriptions and photos are processed by Anthropic's Claude API (a US-based AI provider) to produce nutrition estimates. Data sent to the API is not used to train AI models. AI outputs are estimates only — not medical, dietary or health advice. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions.

If you're a gym member

When you join a gym on Journey, your coach can see your workout results and class attendance. Your nutrition and weight data is visible to your coach only if you explicitly turn on sharing — you can revoke this at any time. Leaving a gym removes the coach's access; your personal data always remains yours.

What we never do

• No advertising, no ad SDKs, no third-party trackers.
• We never sell your personal data or share it beyond the processors named above.
• Your health data is never used for marketing.

Storage and security

Data is stored on our servers, encrypted in transit (HTTPS), with regular backups. Sign-in uses a secure session cookie — the only cookie we set.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and all personal data at any time — see account deletion. Financial documents issued through a gym's billing (invoices/receipts) are retained as required by tax law even after account deletion.

Children

Journey is intended for users aged 18 and over.
